Mathias Roberts

Mathias Roberts joined HSFSA in March 2021. He holds a National diploma in Management, Btech degree in Management from Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) as well as Post-graduate certificate in Education from UNISA.

He then proceeded to The Foundation for Alcohol Related Research (FARR) and formed part of the Research team within FARR, the core focus on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Disorders (FASD) and assisted with Prevalence studies in the rural areas/towns.  Previously, he was employed at the Human Sciences Research Council as a Research Assistant and worked on the national Maternal and Infant Morbidity and Mortality Surveillance (MIMMS) project, also held the role of Provincial Coordinator for the Western Cape on the Department of Human Settlements (DHS) project. Mathias has developed essential data management skills with regard to the development of data management manuals and training of fieldworkers. His experience spans research, financial management & operations and he has particular exposure in the non-profit and private sector.

He is an advocate for better Health, and Education policies and he is a firm believer in life-long learning.

Mathias has particular interests in, Social, Educational and Public health.
