5 Heart healthy activities for Mother’s Day
Mother’s all over the world deserve praise for all the hard work and effort made to make our lives easier and the world a happier place for us. Mother’s everywhere take on a lot of pressure and challenges in keeping our lives running smoothly and never ask for anything in return. Mom’s help us up when life knocks us down, they are our biggest fans, they shower us with affection, and love us unconditionally.
Now it’s time to look after her heart health this Mother’s Day and we have 5 ways to do this:
Get her heart pumping. Take mom on an early walk in a therapeutic environment, like the beachfront, urban park or hiking trail. This will get mom’s blood circulation going and heart rate pumping to keep her fit and improve her heart health. Exercise is a great way for mom to destress and rejuvenate her body and mind.
Brilliant breakfast. Cook with mom and show her new and exciting ways to cook with healthy with fresh ingredients, less salt, and Heart Mark products. Cooking together is a great way to connect and share healthy tips to keep mom’s heart in good health. Introduce mom to our fluffy pancakes with fresh fruit or delicious scones with a homemade spread.
Get mom checked! Show your love by looking after mom’s heart health with an annual check on her blood pressure, cholesterol, and body mass index. Take her to your nearest clinic, pharmacy, or doctor. These tests only take a few minutes but can save a life when it comes to testing for lifestyle diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure, or high cholesterol levels – these are all risk factors for heart disease and stroke.
Fruit picking. A light activity is also a good way of reconnecting and getting in exercise. We find fruit picking not only a good way to spend time with family but also leaves you with a healthy snack full of antioxidants and good for heart health as part of a balanced diet together with exercise.
Less stress. Moms stress about their kids all the time. Reduce moms stress levels so there is less strain on her heart by laughing more, meditating with mom, exercising, and doing an activity she may love and finds comfort in, like gardening, pottery, or even candle making. Alternatively, pamper mom with a spa voucher, manicure and pedicure, or facial that will melt her heart.
Tip: Give mom your time and attention, it is more precious to her than any gift money can buy.
Try to make these tips part of your monthly rituals to spoil mom because she deserves continuous love and care. Treating mom is an opportunity to treat yourself at the same time as well because life is about balance. We wish all moms a very happy Mother’s Day!
